The Honourable Terrence J. Matchett will be officially sworn in as Chief Judge of the Provincial Court of Alberta at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2013.

All RCS Users - Matters can now be booked in RCS until 3:30 p.m. on the business day before the next scheduled court appearance thereby cancelling the next scheduled court appearance.

Matters booked between 3:30 p.m. on the business day before and 8:00 a.m. on the day of the next scheduled court appearance are "pre-books" and counsel is required to appear at the original next scheduled court appearance. (Release 3.5 - April 17, 2013)

Edmonton RCS Users - Trials and preliminary hearings can be booked up to 9 months in the future. Counsel who set later dates (10-12 months when available) in RCS are required to appear at the next original scheduled appearance to have the Court confirm the bookings.(Release 3.5 - April 17, 2013)

Courtroom 267 is available on Monday and Tuesday afternoons for Early Case Resolution offers where the offer is accepted and a joint submission is being advanced.    These matters must be scheduled through RCS or CMO for a maximum of 15 minutes. 

As RCS cannot determine the difference between contested and uncontested matters it is imperative that the user ensure the appropriate scheduling criteria is taken into consideration when booking guilty pleas into Courtroom 267. If a matter is booked for longer than 15 minutes into Courtroom 267 the booking will be cancelled.

Contested and/or lengthy dispositions are not addressed in Courtroom 267.  See RCS Bulletin dated October 29, 2012.
